When the data is written to the local reflection memory for backup, high-speed logic synchronization transfers it to the next node of the ring network. Each subsequent node writes the new data to the local backup at the same time, and then sends it to the next node in the ring network. When the information returns to the initial node, it will be removed from the network. Then, according to the specific hardware and the number of nodes, all computers on the network will have the same data at the same address within a few microseconds. The local processor can read these data at any time without accessing the network. In this way, each computer can always have the latest local backup of the shared memory set. In the four nodes in this example, all computers need only 2.1 μ S can receive the data written into the reflection memory.

Assuming that the cable length is short, the packet size is the largest, and there is no network traffic, this delay calculation may be true. Cable length and network traffic can increase the delay, but as long as the network bandwidth does not exceed the limit, the delay will not increase significantly. Reflective memory board (node) includes local memory, embedded interface and arbitration logic that can provide access channel for host and reflective memory. The reflective memory board can be physically installed or connected to various computer buses, including VME, PCI/PCI-X, CompactPCI, PCI Express or other standard/special systems that can integrate PMC slots. This allows popular workstations to connect with single-board computers through reflective memory without considering interoperability.
